The third full week of March every year is National Poison Prevention Week and a good time to raise awareness about poison prevention and safety measures. The next National Poison Prevention Week is March 19-25, 2023.
The United States Congress established National Poison Prevention Week in 1961 (P.L. 87-319). Shortly thereafter, the Poison Prevention Week Council was organized to coordinate this annual event and promote poison prevention. More than 50 years later, the Council continues to use National Poison Prevention Week to highlight the dangers of poisonings and how to prevent them.
ACI partners with the Council to promote National Poison Prevention Week and works to help ensure the safety of children and adults in homes and communities every day.
