Good Housekeeping's Discover Cleaning 2021: Cleaning is Caring Summit is a virtual event in partnership with the American Cleaning Institute designed to address the cleaning concerns of today’s time-pressed consumers and highlight the latest advancements in the world of clean.

Join us as Dr. Freedhoff, the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Assistant Administrator for the Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP), shares with ACI members her vision and plans for the new fiscal year at EPA, which commences October 1.

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, use of certain topical antiseptic compounds—specifically benzalkonium chloride (BAC), benzethonium chloride (BZC) and chloroxylenol (PCMX)—had increased due to the phase-out of triclosan and triclocarban in soaps and other cleaning products. On behalf of ACI, Ramboll completed an environmental safety assessment for the target antiseptic compounds, as a proactive measure to provide an appropriate science-based context for future environmental monitoring results.
