Give the Gift of Good Health

gloves soapCommunity Service Handwashing Activity

Tis’ the season of giving and this year you can give the gift of good health to those in need in your community. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the single most important thing we can do to keep from getting sick and spreading illness to others is to wash our hands. Work with your Girl Scout Troop or Boy Scout Council, 4H Club, school club or church group to make the holidays special for others in your community.

Follow these steps from the American Cleaning Institute to give the gift of good health to others in your community:

  • Collect gently used gloves and mittens (or buy new ones) in all sizes
  • Put a personal size soap bar or bottle of hand sanitizer on one and a pack of tissues in the other
  • Deliver to shelters, food banks, clinics, or other places in your community

You can also share the Clean Your Paws for Santa Claus coloring sheet with the families!
