REACh

REACH is a new European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use. It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances. The new law entered into force on 1 June 2007. ACI is exploring approaches for efficiently transferring chemical datasets and evaluations to European groups for REACH registrations. Specific ACI consortia have granted permission to APAG, EFEMA, FEDIOL, and EBB to use their data compilations to support requests for exemptions from REACH under Annex IV. The EU has granted some of these chemicals exemptions: http://echa.europa.eu/doc/reach/regulation_annexes_iv_v_en.pdf .
