Science

ACI is dedicated to advancing public understanding of the safety and benefits of cleaning products. ACI and our members are leaders in developing reliable information for characterizing the environmental and human health safety of cleaning product ingredients.

ACIScience.org (formerly SDAScience.org) serves as a publicly-available repository of outcomes from ACI's research and technical programs. Check out ACIScience.org for detailed research and scientific studies that support the formulation and use of cleaning and hygiene products and ingredients.

Other summaries and statements of our scientific and technical work are available throughout the Science & Policy section.

Policy

ACI advances and supports its members’ interests by providing review, comments, testimony and position statements at all levels of government. Learn about some of the issues where we are engaged.

If you need details on the science behind cleaning products, be sure to see our science website where you will find outcomes of our research and technical programs. Most of the scientific information relates to the safety of cleaning products and their ingredients, though ACI's technical work on chemical management approaches and general issues undertaken as part of the industry's product stewardship efforts over the years also is presented. Much of this work was conducted in collaboration with industry, non-industry and governmental organizations.
