Outstanding Friend of Family and Consumer Sciences

Presented to Nancy Bock
Vice President-Consumer Education
American Cleaning Institute
HEIB Meeting

Tuesday, April 26,20t1 (Wayzata, Minnesota) The Minnesota Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (MAFCS) "OUTSTANDING FRIEND" Award recognizes an individual or group who is not a member of MAFCS but who shows continued support to the profession as an "outsider".

"It is with pleasure that I announce the selection of Nancy Bock, Vice President-Consumer Education for the American Cleaning Institute to receive this award." said MAFCS Awards and Recognition Committee Co-Chairs Lynsee Mattson and Marian Dombrock.

When the H1N1 crisis threatened to become a pandemic, Nancy Bock, of the former Soap and Detergent Association, encouraged the involvement of Family and Consumer Science professionals through the 'Taking It to the Streets" (TIS) Leadership Team, an initiative of AAFCS. Nancy provided the AAFCS Leadership Team with timely H1N1 updates, access to training webinars, and valuable resources at no cost to AAFCS/MAFCS members and partners. This avenue helped disseminate the most current information to educate our students and the general public in the prevention of H1N1. Nancy was involved in monthly conference calls and distribution of these resources. Much of the success of this initiative was due to the support of Nancy Bock.

Nancy is a strong supporter of Family and Consumer Sciences and provides excellent support to the field through providing materials, exhibiting, and sharing her expertise. Her advocacy for the strong linkage between the American Cleaning Institute and Family and Consumer Science is a model of collaboration.

Thank you, Nancy for all you have done and continue to do to support the Family and Consumer Science profession and our heartfelt congratulations!
