Encouraging Healthy Lifestyles through Technology-Based Programming

  • 2014 Clean and Healthy Families & Communities Award Recipient

September 18, 2014. The Ohio State University Extension and County Commissioners Cooperating teamed up and used technology as a means of disseminating educational information. Their blog included tips from ACI’s website.

This project earned the 2014 Clean and Healthy Families & Communities Award, an award that recognizes National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) members for innovative educational programs and outreach efforts that help families and individuals to understand the vital link between clean homes and good health.

The "Clean and Healthy Families & Communities" Award was presented On September 18, 2014 in Lexington, Kentucky at the 2014 NEAFCS Annual Session. ACI partners with the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) on the annual award.

The OSU Extension project included a Spring Wellness Challenge open to any adult with an email account. Individuals could sign up to receive twice weekly educational messages, tracking log for progress, weekly drawings for wellness prizes, pre and post Challenge survey to collect participant improvements, and the option of following the Live Healthy Live Well Facebook page.
