ACI Partners with Mississippi Extension Educators to Help Make Homes Healthier
- American Cleaning Institute Offers Free Educational Materials
The American Cleaning Institute is pleased to offer free educational materials to educators to help others learn about the benefits cleaning can have of creating a healthy home.
ACI has partnered with Extension Service professionals for many years. "As state Extension Healthy Homes Coordinator, I rely on the educational materials provide by ACI to teach both educators and diverse audiences of consumers about clean and healthy homes. Cleaning to Control Allergies & Asthma is one of my favorites! Thank you for providing these wonderful teaching resources," says Bobbie Shaffett, Ph.D. retired recently from Mississippi State University Extension Service and is the Healthy Homes Coordinator.
Terri Crawford and other extension agents (above) participated in several days of healthy homes training at the LaHouse Resource Center on the LSU Campus in Baton Rouge.
Health professionals agree that controlling allergens in the home can significantly reduce symptoms for the millions of people who suffer from allergies or asthma. And cleaning is one of the first and easiest steps to controlling the most common indoor allergens that can trigger attacks. To help families control their home environment, ACI has developed Cleaning to Control Allergies & Asthma education materials that describe cleaning the bedroom, how often to wash bedding, cleaning bathroom and kitchen, and controlling clutter in the home.
