2012 Fall Meeting
2012 Fall Meeting: Eileen Moyer, Givaudan Fragrances Corporation,  Donna Hillebold, AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry and Catherine de Lacy, The Clorox Company.

The ACI Fall Meeting gathered members from 21companies to discuss the Institute's program updates and priorities. Clive Davies, Chief of the Design for the Environment Program (DfE) in the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) gave a presentation on the EPA's Design for the Environment Program. Bess Bezirgan, Senior Vice President, OgilvyEngage, gave a presentation: Leveraging the Science of Behavior Change to Build Consumer Campaigns.

Members also attended a Special Reception at the United States Botanic Gardens hosted by the International Fragrance Association North America (IFRA) and Christophe Laudamiel of the Academy of Perfumery and Osmotheque Conservatory. The reception provided guests with an interactive scent experience, presented only for the second time in the United States.

2012 Mid Year Meeting

The Mid-Year Meeting was held at the Gaylord Texan Hotel & Convention Center located on the lake shores of Lake Grapevine in Grapevine, Texas. Debbie Carr, Executive Director, American Association of Poison Control Centers gave a presentation on Building Partnerships to Advance Consumer Education. Dr. Bryan Brooks, Baylor University, gave a presentation Perspectives on Environmental Assessments of Chemicals Used in Consumer Products reviewing his research efforts on identifying challenges chemicals of emerging concern present to environmental toxicology and risk assessment, and developing sound scientific approaches to reduce such uncertainties; and Tony Walker, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.


2012 Convention in Review

  • The ACI 86th Annual Meeting & Industry Convention provided connections to the right people in the cleaning products industry, valuable networking opportunities, industry updates, the new CEO Panel and additional charity events.
  • Approximately 725 industry leaders from 25 different countries attended the 2012 Convention at Grande Lakes Orlando to take advantage of the industry’s best business-to-business and business-to-customer networking in the cleaning products industry.
  • The first-ever charity duck race was a huge success and proceeds will benefit Cleaning for a Reason to support their efforts to provide free residential cleaning services to women undergoing treatment for cancer.
  • The theme of the Convention – Leading the Global Landscape – succinctly described the ACI’s role in the cleaning product and oleochemical supply chains.
  • Attendees heard how ACI addresses critical industry issues through effective advocacy and outreach built on scientific principles and strong partnerships with key stakeholders.

Congratulations Jane M. Hutterly: 2012 Elva Walker Spillane Distinguished Service Award Recipient
The Elva Walker Spillane Distinguished Service Award was presented to Jane M. Hutterly, former Executive Vice President of Worldwide Corporate & Environmental Affairs and S.C. Johnson & Son, Inc.
